Siemens out - WEG CFW-11 installed by our engineers in a day

We recently installed and setup a WEG CFW-11 45 KW inverter drive for the main winding drum on a tissue paper slitter rewinder after an old Siemens drive had a fatality from what looks due to moisture tracking on the drives PCBs caused by paper dust build up, I often see this as the air gets damper in the autumn.

Customer had no electrical drawings for this very complex and of its day machine, had to reverse engineer the control inputs into the new drive from the old drives manual and use experience, best judgement and knowledge in paper converting to understand how the old drive was set up, mode of operation, etc.

It all worked, customer back in production in less than 24 hours of giving us a call.

This could have been a story of servicing an old inverter drive and been far less of a production panic and cost if the customer had called us two weeks before to service the drive, but who wants to read about proactive maintenance saving money and downtime ?
